Delhi: The Congress party is gearing up for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, with the Election Committee meeting in Delhi finalizing the list of candidates. Led by AP PCC president YS Sharmila and other key leaders, the meeting approved numerous candidates for 117 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha seats. S
elections for 58 Assembly and 8 Lok Sabha seats remain pending. Sources indicate that YS Sharmila is likely to contest from the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, while Gidugu Rudraraj is poised for Rajamahendravaram. Additionally, Satya Reddy (Visakhapatnam), Pallam Raju (Kakinada), and JD Seelam (Bapatla) have secured candidacy approval.
However, notable constituencies like Nandyala, Tirupati, Anantapur, Kurnool, Vijayawada, Araku, Guntur, and Amalapuram await candidate confirmations. Interestingly, veteran leader and former minister Raghuveera Reddy has opted out of contesting in this election, signaling potential shifts within the party’s leadership dynamics.
