Pune: Puja Khedkar, a trainee IAS officer from Maharashtra, finds herself in the midst of a significant controversy. Accusations have surfaced against her for abuse of power and submission of a false affidavit to the UPSC. Recently, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) demolished illegal constructions outside her family residence in Pune, citing the absence of a response to prior notices.

Khedkar has also faced scrutiny for allegedly misusing her position as a bureaucrat in Pune. Reports claim she improperly utilized a siren, government sticker, and VIP number plates on her private Audi car, leading to her transfer to Wasim by the Maharashtra government. Typically, probationary officers do not have access to such privileges.

Further investigations have revealed irregularities in Khedkar’s disability certification documents, including a factory address in place of her home address. The engineering company at the stated address reportedly owes Rs. 2.7 lakh in taxes to the local municipal corporation. Khedkar has lodged a complaint against Pune Collector Suhas Diwase, alleging harassment, with the case now under police review in Wasim.

Additionally, her father, Dilip Khedkar, is under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accumulating assets beyond his known income during his tenure with the Maharashtra government.
