Amaravati: The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) is investigating the issuance of a Government Order (GO) and gazette notification on GPS without proper authorization. The inquiry, ordered by CM Chandrababu Naidu, aims to identify those responsible within the Finance and Law Departments.

Focus is on the roles of Deputy Secretary of Finance Shanti Kumari and Section Officer Hariprasad Oddi from the Law Department. Higher officials are scrutinizing the past conduct of these officers, suspecting that business rules were not followed. According to these rules, decisions not implemented by the previous government must be reviewed by the new government within six months, and explicit permission is required for their execution.

Initial findings suggest that the two officers bypassed these regulations. The suspicious timing of the GO issuance, coinciding with Naidu’s oath-taking and the subsequent gazette notification a month later, has raised eyebrows. The government is now probing potential covert actions among various departments, ministers, and officials to uncover any further misconduct.

This investigation underscores the administration’s commitment to transparency and adherence to procedural norms.
