Amaravati: In a significant move, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan held a crucial video conference from the State Secretariat today, focusing on the effective management of the Gram Sabha and related street policies. The conference aimed to streamline the approval process for works under the Employment Guarantee Scheme, a critical initiative designed to ensure rural employment and infrastructure development across Andhra Pradesh.
During the conference, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the importance of holding Gram Sabhas in all Gram Panchayats across the state on August 23,2024. He outlined that 46 different types of work can be undertaken under the Employment Guarantee Scheme, underscoring the vast scope of the program. He highlighted the state’s significant financial commitment to this scheme, with thousands of crores being allocated, and stressed that every rupee must be spent responsibly to meet the scheme’s objectives.
Pawan Kalyan urged district, mandal, and village-level officials to take full responsibility for the scheme’s implementation, ensuring that the goals of the Employment Guarantee Scheme are met effectively. He also called for the social audit department to be actively involved in monitoring the program to maintain transparency and accountability.
The video conference was attended by several senior officials, including P.R. & R.D. Principal Secretary Shri Shasibhushan Kumar, Commissioner Shri Krishna Teja, and other senior officers. Officials from 26 districts, including ZDP CEOs, DPOs, Dwama PDs, Mandals MPDOs, EO PRDs, and Panchayat Secretaries, also participated in this important discussion.
