Hyderabad: Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC) chairman and renowned film producer Dil Raju addressed the ongoing Income Tax (IT) inspections targeting several prominent figures in the Telugu film industry, including himself. Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad on Saturday, he clarified the situation and refuted rumors surrounding the raids.
Dil Raju stated that the IT officials were fully supported during their inspections and revealed that only ₹20 lakh in accounted cash was found across his family members. He emphasized that the raids are routine in any business sector, recalling similar inspections in 2008. “We provided all documents related to film distribution and exhibition, along with our gold calculations, to the authorities. Contrary to reports, we have not purchased any property in the last five years,” he explained.
He also addressed rumors about the recovery of large sums of cash and clarified that reports of his mother’s ill health due to the raids were baseless. “My 81-year-old mother was recovering from a lung infection and is now completely healthy,” he said.
The press conference aimed to dispel misinformation and highlight transparency in the film industry.
