Rajamahendravaram: Former minister Chelluboyina Venugopala has launched a sharp attack on the coalition government, accusing it of losing credibility within nine months of coming to power. He alleged that the administration is more focused on political vendettas than addressing public concerns, questioning whether the people’s mandate was given for settling scores instead of governance.
Criticizing the government’s contradictory debt claims, he pointed out that initial estimates stood at ₹14 lakh crore, later revised to ₹6 lakh crore, calling Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu a master of falsehoods. He also questioned the use of the BNS 111 Act in cases like Posani Krishnamurali’s arrest, asserting that it was misapplied.
Venugopalakrishna slammed the government’s handling of the Tirumala Laddu controversy, accusing it of making unverified claims of adulteration instead of taking responsibility. He also criticized its delayed response to Guntur mirchi farmers, noting that relief measures were only announced after opposition leader YS Jagan’s intervention.
He accused the ruling coalition of claiming credit for past achievements while implementing anti-people policies, including reducing the height of the Polavaram project and increasing prices despite pre-election promises. He urged the public to hold the government accountable.
