Sullurpet: In a groundbreaking achievement, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has successfully joined the elite league of nations capable of satellite docking in space, a feat previously achieved only by the United States, Russia, and China. The historic launch took place at 10:15 PM on Monday from the Satish Dhawan Space Center (SHAR) in Tirupati district, marking a major milestone in India’s space exploration journey.
The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C60) carried two advanced satellites, Spadex-1A and Spadex-1B, weighing 420 kg each, into orbit. The twin satellites separated from the rocket just 15.09 minutes after liftoff, demonstrating ISRO’s precision in satellite docking technology.
PSLV-C60’s Unique Features
The mission also showcased the PS4-orbital experiment module (POEM), designed for advanced scientific research in microgravity conditions. Over three months, POEM will support 24 payloads, including 14 from ISRO and 10 from non-governmental organizations and startups.
This achievement highlights India’s growing prowess in space innovation and its ability to conduct cutting-edge experiments, paving the way for future space exploration and technological advancements.
