Nellore: YSRCP district president and former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy has strongly criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly allowing corruption and illegal activities related to sand and liquor policies under his administration. Govardhan Reddy claimed that MLAs and ministers involved in these illicit practices face no accountability and demanded immediate action.
Speaking to the media in Nellore on Saturday, Reddy challenged CM Naidu, questioning his commitment to transparent governance and urging him to take action against officials involved in extortion, intimidation, and illegal sand mining. He highlighted an estimated loss of Rs 800 crore due to these practices, describing the coalition government’s tenure as a “looting spree” of public resources.
Reddy also alleged that TDP leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy is scheming a Rs 100 crore sand theft operation in Surayapalem. He announced a protest in Nellore on October 25 to expose the corruption surrounding sand policies and the involvement of TDP leaders, urging the public to support the demonstration.
