Hyderabad: The construction of the much-awaited Regional Ring Road (RRR) has taken a significant step forward, with the central government inviting tenders for a four-lane expressway in the northern section of the project. The expressway, spanning 161.5 km, will connect Girmapur to Yadadri and is estimated to cost ₹7,104 crore. The project has been divided into five packages, with a completion deadline of two years.
RRR Project Details:
- Package-1: Girmapur to Reddipalli (34.5 km, Sangareddy district)
- Package-2: Reddipalli to Islampur (26 km)
- Package-3: Islampur to Prajnapur (23 km)
- Package-4: Prajnapur to Raigiri (43 km, Yadadri district)
- Package-5: Raigiri to Thangadipalli (35 km)
RRR: A Game Changer for Telangana
Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy hailed the tender announcement, attributing it to the relentless efforts of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. “This marks a golden day in Telangana’s history. The RRR will be a transformative project, similar to the ORR, and will secure a prosperous future for Telangana’s children,” he said.
The minister emphasized the Congress party’s dedication, stating that their persistent appeals to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had resulted in this achievement. The RRR is expected to bolster connectivity and drive development in Telangana.
