Mangalagiri: A baby boy’s life was saved thanks to the timely intervention of Minister Nara Lokesh. Chadala Venkatamaheswara Rao, a resident of Jaggayyapet in NTR district, and his wife faced a critical situation when their newborn son, just 14 days old, developed a life-threatening fever. As the baby’s platelet count plummeted, his condition became severe. Upon the advice of local doctors, the family rushed him to a private hospital in Vijayawada for specialized treatment.

The cost of the treatment, estimated at Rs. 4 lakh, posed a major financial burden for Venkatamaheswara Rao, a member of a tribal family with limited means. Desperate for help, he approached Minister Lokesh through the ‘Praja Darbar’ on the 28th of the previous month, seeking assistance for his son’s medical expenses.

Minister Lokesh, responding immediately, arranged for the required financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, ensuring the baby received critical care. After 14 days of intensive treatment at the Vijayawada hospital, the infant made a full recovery and was discharged.

In an emotional gesture, the parents visited Minister Lokesh at his residence in Undavalli to express their gratitude. “Our son’s life was saved by your intervention. We are indebted for life,” said the tearful parents. Lokesh reassured them that he would always be available for any future assistance.
