Hyderabad: Former minister and MLA Harish Rao expressed his concerns over the deteriorating conditions in Gurukuls (residential schools), blaming the Congress government for the alleged mismanagement. Rao highlighted the plight of students, stating that once there were queues for seats in Gurukuls, but now parents are queuing up to take their children home due to inadequate facilities.
Taking to the ‘X’ platform, Harish Rao remarked, “Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who holds the education portfolio, is jeopardizing the future of students. Gurukul students are forced to leave because they are unable to eat properly. Education is a sacred matter, yet parents now only hope their children survive these conditions. The government must urgently intervene to save these students’ lives.”
He cited incidents from various districts, including the KGBV school in Dilawarpur, Nirmal district, where students pleaded with parents to take them home, saying, “We cannot eat this food.” He also pointed out the case of Anantapet KGBV school, where ten students were hospitalized after consuming contaminated food.
Rao called the situation a failure of the Congress government, questioning, “Is this the change you promised in one year?” He urged the government to take immediate action to address these alarming issues.
