Amaravati: Education Minister Nara Lokesh has launched a scathing attack on YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of mismanaging the education sector and failing students. Speaking to the media, Lokesh criticized Jagan for his allegations against the coalition government, highlighting the drastic measures taken to resolve issues in the education system since coming to power.
Lokesh stated that the coalition government cleared ₹6,500 crore in pending tuition fee reimbursements, which had caused significant hardships for students. He pointed out that ₹3,500 crore in dues under education and accommodation schemes left by the previous government had disrupted students’ lives, making it difficult for them to access certificates.
Addressing Jagan’s “Nadu-Nedu” campaign, Lokesh claimed that even basic amenities such as tables, drinking water, and toilets were missing in government schools under the YSRCP’s rule. He added that the current government is focused on improving infrastructure in schools and filling over 16,000 teacher posts to enhance educational standards.
Lokesh emphasized the coalition government’s commitment to making Andhra Pradesh’s education system the best in the country, while holding Jagan accountable for the exodus of four lakh students from government schools during his tenure.
