Kanigiri: In a major push for clean energy and industrial development in Andhra Pradesh, Minister for Education and IT, Nara Lokesh, laid the foundation stone for the Reliance Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) Plant at Divakarapalli in Prakasam district. This project, spearheaded by Reliance New Energy, marks a significant step in the state’s integrated clean energy policy.
The groundbreaking ceremony witnessed the presence of key figures, including Reliance Industries Director P.M.S. Prasad, Reliance Industries Limited AP & TS Mentor P.V.L. Madhava Rao, and Reliance Bioenergy CEO Harindra K. Tripathi. The plant, spanning 475 acres, is being developed with an investment of ₹139 crore and has a production capacity of 100 tons.
This project is the first of 500 CBG plants Reliance aims to establish across the state, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable energy. The company is investing ₹65,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh, a move expected to generate 2.5 lakh job opportunities.
Minister Lokesh was warmly welcomed at the event by coalition leaders, TDP representatives, and party workers. Several prominent officials, including Ministers Gottipati Ravi Kumar and Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, attended the ceremony.
