Nandyala: In a development that has sparked controversy, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy has submitted his nomination once again as the Vaikapa candidate to represent the Don constituency. However, during the scrutiny of nominations on Friday, objections were raised by the lawyer representing TDP candidate Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy regarding discrepancies in Buggana’s election affidavit.
Specifically, concerns were raised about incomplete disclosure of details related to assets in Buggana’s nomination paper. The TDP lawyer asserted that evidence supporting these claims was available and urged for the immediate rejection of the nomination.
In response, Minister Buggana presented documents to the Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) to clarify the details of the assets mentioned in his affidavit. As a result, the status of Buggana’s nomination is currently pending, with a notice issued to his lawyer to provide further property details by evening.
Meanwhile, Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) against Buggana’s nomination, demanding clarity on the decision to not reject it outright. The situation remains tense as stakeholders await a resolution from the electoral authorities.
