Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y.S. Sharmila criticized the governor’s speech in the assembly, calling it a major disappointment. In a statement issued on Tuesday, she said that people who were eagerly awaiting the implementation of government schemes were left disheartened.

“They lied to the governor and merely read out the alliance’s pamphlet. There was no clarity on when the promises made over the past eight months would be fulfilled. The speech lacked details on the implementation of the Super Six schemes and other guarantees, such as the job calendar. The restructuring of the state was only mentioned in passing, without any concrete measures,” she remarked.

Sharmila further attacked the government’s claims regarding farmers’ welfare. “It is a blatant lie to say that the state’s farmers are thriving when there are no remunerative prices, and they continue to suffer heavy losses due to natural calamities,” she alleged. She demanded that the government announce a job calendar and fill vacant positions immediately.
