Amaravati: Fortune 500 company Sify Technologies has expressed its interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh, focusing on the establishment of a mega data center and a cable landing station in Visakhapatnam.
Sify CMD Raju Vegesna met with Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday to discuss investment prospects in the state. During the meeting, Minister Lokesh highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s business-friendly environment, including the speed of doing business policies and the newly introduced IT policy, which aims to attract global technology firms.
Lokesh encouraged Sify Technologies to collaborate with the AP Economic Development Board (APEDB) and prepare a roadmap for the investment. The proposed data center and cable landing station in Visakhapatnam are expected to enhance digital infrastructure, connectivity, and cloud services, reinforcing the state’s position as an emerging IT and technology hub.
With Andhra Pradesh actively promoting investments in the technology and IT sectors, Sify’s potential entry is anticipated to create employment opportunities and boost the region’s digital economy.
