VONTIMITTA: In a vibrant display of devotion, the revered Sri Kodanda Ramalayam in Vontimitta witnessed a spectacular Pushpayagam ceremony on Friday evening. The ritual, an integral part of the temple’s traditions, involved a colorful floral bath for the utsava deities Sri Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana.

Devotees adorned the deities with several kilograms of traditional and ornamental flowers, alongside aromatic leaves, creating a picturesque scene of reverence and splendor. The Pushpayagam holds significance as a cleansing ritual, performed post the annual Brahmotsavam, known as “Pariharotsavam.” It serves as an opportunity for devotees, religious staff, and organizers to seek absolution for any inadvertent wrongs committed during the festivities.

DyEO Sri Natesh Babu, Garden Deputy Director Sri Srinivasulu, Superintendent Sri Hanumantaiah, Temple Inspector Sri Naveen, and a multitude of devotees graced the occasion, adding to the fervor and spiritual ambiance of the ceremony. The event not only reaffirmed the temple’s rich cultural heritage but also provided devotees with a moment of spiritual upliftment and communion with the divine.
