Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay, declared that the Central Government will not confer the Padma Shri award on Gaddar under any circumstances. Addressing a press conference on Monday at the BJP state office during preparations for the MLC elections, he responded to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s claims of injustice in Padma Awards for Telangana.

Sanjay firmly stated that Padma awards are given based on merit and not on state recommendations alone. He accused Gaddar of adhering to Maoist ideology and being involved in violent activities, including the deaths of BJP workers, Congress leaders, TDP members, and police officials. Highlighting past incidents, he mentioned the killings of MP DK Aruna’s father, Chittem Narsireddy, and Minister Sridhara Babu’s father, Duddilla Sripadarao, allegedly by Maoists. “Under no circumstances should such a person receive a Padma award,” Sanjay asserted.

Sanjay also criticized the state government for renaming central welfare schemes. He stated, “If the state changes the names of schemes funded by the Centre, we will directly provide ration cards and houses to beneficiaries. Misleading people by changing scheme names will not be tolerated.”
