
Hyderabad: Union Minister Kishan Reddy congratulated popular actor and Hindupuram MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna on his selection for the prestigious Padma Bhushan award. During his visit to Balakrishna’s residence, the minister lauded his contributions to cinema, politics, and social service.
Kishan Reddy highlighted Balakrishna’s 15-year tenure as chairman of the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital, during which he provided critical medical services to thousands of patients. He expressed gratitude to the Government of India for recognizing Balakrishna’s multifaceted contributions.
Speaking on the occasion, Balakrishna said, “The Padma Bhushan is more of a responsibility than a title. I am honored and deeply thankful to the central government for acknowledging my efforts in cinema, healthcare, and politics. With the support of my fans and the people of Hindupuram, I have achieved many milestones, including being elected MLA three times.”
Balakrishna further emphasized his commitment to continue serving society, adding, “I consider this award a tribute to my father, NTR, whose legacy inspires me. This recognition motivates me to work harder for the betterment of society.”
