Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has taken decisive action against Pooja Khedkar, a probationary IAS officer from Maharashtra, following corruption allegations. The UPSC has canceled her provisional candidature and permanently barred her from future recruitment tests, officials announced on Wednesday.
Pooja Khedkar, also known as Pooja Bedkar, faced accusations of abusing her position and submitting false documents during her tenure as a Trainee Assistant Collector in Fanelo. An investigation was initiated after the UPSC issued a show cause notice to Khedkar, requesting an explanation for the allegations. Despite being granted extensions, Khedkar failed to respond adequately, leading the UPSC to take severe action.
The commission noted that Khedkar had used fraudulent documents to clear the UPSC exam, including altering details related to her name, parents, photograph, email, and address. Following the discovery of these violations, she was suspended from probation and directed to return to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy in Mussoorie, a directive she ignored.
Additionally, Khedkar faces a cheating case registered by the police and has sought anticipatory bail from a Delhi court, which is expected to deliver its verdict on August 1.
