Vijayawada: Vijayawada is set to host the National Games in 2027, according to MP Keshineni Shivnath. Speaking at a spiritual meeting organized by the Polytechnic College Walkers Association at Government Polytechnic College on Sunday, Shivnath highlighted the city’s development plans alongside the growth of Amaravati.
The event saw MP Keshineni Shivnath and MLA Gadde Rammohan honored by the association. Shivnath emphasized that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is committed to bringing the National Games to Vijayawada to enhance the city’s prominence and development. He also announced that the International Cricket Stadium in Mangalagiri is expected to open within six months, and efforts are underway to establish a cricket academy in the city due to space constraints for a stadium.
Shivnath outlined plans for infrastructure improvements, including resolving drainage issues, road enhancements, and constructing flyovers over the next five years. The development will extend to accommodations at the railway station and facilities at the Kanakadurga temple.
