Tadepalli: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met with the party’s Legislative Council Members to strategize on addressing government shortcomings and pushing for recognition as the official opposition. The meeting, held at the party’s central office, emphasized countering the ruling party’s policies in the ongoing Assembly sessions.
YS Jagan highlighted that the YSRCP has petitioned the High Court to secure official opposition status, but the Assembly Speaker has yet to respond. He expressed concern that the ruling party is reluctant to acknowledge the YSRCP’s 40% vote share, as official recognition would require providing opportunities for the opposition to scrutinize government actions.
During the meeting, YS Jagan urged MLCs to hold the government accountable and address unfulfilled promises by consistently engaging with the media to present issues backed by facts. He reassured party members that the public is beginning to question the ruling party’s integrity and sees through deceptive promises.
YS Jagan encouraged MLCs to remain steadfast and prepare for possible Jamili Elections, expressing confidence in YSRCP’s commitment to its values and mission.
