Hyderabad: YS Vijayamma, mother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YS Sharmila, has issued an open letter addressing recent property disputes within the family. Clarifying long standing speculations, Vijayamma stated that no property division occurred during her husband YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s lifetime, emphasizing that all assets remain family-owned and equally shared between her son and daughter.
In the letter, Vijayamma expressed frustration with close family associates, including YV Subbareddy and Vijayasai Reddy, accusing them of spreading misinformation. She stated that while some properties were designated under Jagan and Sharmila names, this did not constitute a formal transfer. “All these assets were placed in their names as a family arrangement, not as a final distribution,” she clarified.
Vijayamma emphasized that both Jagan and Sharmila are her children and should be treated equally, upholding YSR’s legacy. The letter also requested transparency in asset records, highlighting that only Sharmila’s property list had been disclosed, not Jagan’s.
Calling for an end to “falsehoods” in the media, Vijayamma urged that the family assets remain a shared responsibility. She appealed to supporters to respect YSR’s vision of fairness, uniting for both the family’s and the state’s well-being.
