Vijayawada: YSRCP general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy made strong statements against TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, asserting that the people had already rejected him in 2019 due to a loss of confidence. Addressing media representatives at the party’s central office in Tadepalli, Reddy criticized the TDP for its alleged failure to fulfill previous election promises, claiming it lacked a clear agenda.
Reddy expressed surprise at what he termed as ‘false propaganda’ surrounding the entry of a pantry car into the Chief Minister’s camp office by the TDP and media sympathetic to it. He accused Chandrababu Naidu of securing tickets for his followers in BJP despite the two parties forming an alliance.
Highlighting YSRCP’s achievements, Reddy stated that the party was proud to have fulfilled 98% of its election promises and implemented numerous welfare schemes. He dismissed Chandrababu’s promise of increasing old-age pension to Rs 4,000, asserting that people were content with the existing Rs 3,000 monthly pension and feared the cessation of current welfare schemes if TDP regained power.
Reddy alleged that Chandrababu Naidu amassed considerable wealth during his tenure and is now attempting to deflect accusations of corruption onto Jagan Mohan Reddy. He claimed that Chandrababu’s meetings were met with little response from the public.
Regarding the controversy surrounding a container entering the Chief Minister’s Office, Reddy clarified that YSRCP had requested the RTC for a container pantry van in light of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s 21-day bus yatra. He accused the TDP of resorting to mudslinging instead of presenting a clear manifesto, asserting that the party was frustrated by its inability to regain power and lacked a coherent agenda despite its four-decade-long existence.
