Tadepalli: Former minister Adimulapu Suresh reaffirmed YSRCP’s commitment to Scheduled Caste (SC) upliftment and criticized the coalition government for its mishandling of the SC classification issue. He accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of deliberately fueling divisions among SC communities for political gain.
Suresh highlighted that under Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership, SC communities received equal opportunities, including ministerial positions and welfare corporations, ensuring fair treatment of both Mala and Madiga sub-groups. He condemned the TDP-led government for failing to enact a proper law and instead opting for a short discussion in the Assembly, questioning its intentions and transparency.
The Rajiv Ranjan Mishra Commission report, crucial for SC sub-categorization, has not been made public, raising concerns about political manipulation. Suresh also criticized linking SC classification to population census data, calling it a tactic to prolong disputes.
He urged the government to adopt a clear legislative resolution instead of using delaying strategies. YSRCP demanded transparency and accountability, asserting that political games should not come at the cost of SC empowerment.
