Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), P. Narayana, announced that Amaravati’s construction will be completed within three years. Speaking after the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he detailed plans for trunk roads, iconic buildings, and layouts worth ₹24,276 crore.
Minister Narayana revealed that the Assembly building will span 103 acres with a height of 250 meters and a total area of 11.22 lakh square meters. Visitors will be allowed to view Amaravati from the top of the Assembly complex when the legislature is not in session.
The High Court will be an eight-story structure built over 20.32 lakh square feet at a cost of ₹1,048 crore, while the General Administrative Department (GAD) building will have 47 stories, covering 17.03 lakh square feet. Additionally, five other towers spanning 68.88 lakh square feet will be constructed for ₹4,688 crore.
Infrastructure developments include 579.5 km of highways and roads for ₹9,699 crore, ₹7,794 crore for trunk roads, and ₹318 crore for sewage treatment works. Tenders for these projects will begin next week and are expected to conclude by January.
Minister Narayana emphasized justice for farmers involved in land pooling and pledged to transform Amaravati into one of the world’s top five metros.
