The estranged Aam Aadmi Party leader Kapil Mishra said that the party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should resign. This, he said, is the demand of all the political parties based on ‘moral grounds’.

AAP accused Mishra of chanting BJPs tunes as Mishra accused Kejriwal of ‘massive financial irregularities’. Mishra has been on indefinite hunger strike and demanded that AAP has to disclose all details about the trips that its leaders have taken to foreign companies. He accused that the costs of these foreign trips have been hidden from the Election Commission. He also said that the party was using ‘fictitious donor names’ and ‘shell companies’ to launder money.

Delhi Congress Chief Ajay Maken demanded a probe into the allegations. He said, “The allegations are serious. Kejriwal should step down on moral and legal grounds. AAP, which floated shell companies to convert black money into white to show in its accounts, also receives illegal foreign funding, which is a serious matter.” Maken also said that it was highly unlikely that government agencies were unaware of these corruptions.

Manoj Tiwari, the BJP state Chief also demanded resignation on Mishra’s allegations. He said, “AAP should bring an interim Chief Minister, till the inquiry against Kejriwal is pending.” He also said that he will be writing to the finance minister about the Axis Bank and AAP connection. He said, “AAP should respect democracy. It is not just a number game. It is about transparency in working.”

Kapil Mishra, in regard to this, said that ‘Kejriwal should resign or I will pull him by his collar and drag him to the gates of Tihar jail’. Mishra said that party received donations worth crores from 16 nonexistent companies on January 20, 2014. These funds were transferred from Axis Bank, Krishna Nagar branch. During demonisation, this branch was reported to have converted black money into white.

AAP, however, declined these claims and said that Mishra with the support of BJP was trying to finish AAP. He also said that parties should stop questioning AAPs credentials and that the party has ensured transparency in all funds.
