Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has called on Congress party members to expedite the ongoing caste census survey by November 30, aiming to make Telangana a national model for social justice. Addressing a gathering at Gandhi Bhavan led by PCC president Mahesh Kumar on Wednesday, he emphasized the importance of the census as a means to assess citizens’ conditions comprehensively.
Revanth Reddy described the census as a “mega health checkup” to ensure equitable distribution of government resources. He proposed appointing 33 district observers to coordinate the census, cautioning members against actions that might harm the party’s image. “Our goal is to make Telangana a national model and prepare for Rahul Gandhi’s leadership,” he declared, adding that Telangana’s example could lay groundwork for a national caste census initiative.
Discussing employment, Reddy highlighted his administration’s progress, including distributing 50,000 appointment letters within 10 months despite opposition. He cited recent statistics showing inclusivity in the Group-1 Mains selection, with 57.11% BC, 15.38% SC, and 8.87% ST representation. “Our aim is to make Congress-led policies effective, with no room for opposition conspiracies,” he said, urging members to work collectively toward party goals.
