Mr. Hari Shankar Tiwari, the former Minister from Uttar Pradesh, passed away on the night of the 16th of May, Tuesday.
The veteran politician from eastern Uttar Pradesh Mr. Hari Shankar Tiwari was 89 years old and passed away at his residence in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. He was suffering from acute kidney problems and heart disease for the last few years and died due to the same, confirmed sources.
Highlighting about Mr. Hari Shankar Tiwari, he was from Tanda village of Barhalganj town, Uttar Pradesh. He became a railway contractor after completing education and later emerged as a strong Brahmin leader of eastern Uttar Pradesh. He started his political career with the Samajwadi Party (SP) and won Chillupar Assembly seat of Gorakhpur for five consecutive terms. He also served as the cabinet minister from 1997 to 2007 in Kalyan Singh, Ram Prakash Gupta, Rajnath Singh, Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav-led governments.
The demise of Mr. Hari Shankar Tiwari has left the people of Gorakhpur mourning. Furthermore, Mr. Akhilesh Yadav, the President of the Samajwadi Party expressed griefed and extended condolences over the demise of Mr. Hari Shankar Tiwari.
Meanwhile, the last rites of Mr. Hari Shankar Tiwari is scheduled to perform at Mukti Path in Barhalganj town of Gorakhpur district on Wednesday.
