Amaravati: The High Court dismissed the plea of Nehareddy, daughter of VSRCP Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy, seeking a status quo on the demolition of a concrete barrier wall at Bheemili beach in Visakhapatnam district. The court ruled that no interim order could be issued at this stage, emphasizing the existing orders to halt illegal constructions and take legal action.

The single judge clarified that interim orders cannot be issued while the Chief Justice’s bench order to stop construction and address illegal structures is in effect. The petitioner was advised to appeal to the CJ bench for any modification of the previous order if necessary.

Visakhapatnam Janasena corporator Murthyadav was allowed to join as a defendant in Nehareddy’s lawsuit and was ordered to file a counter. The hearing has been adjourned for a week.

Justice B. Krishnamohan issued this order on Monday. Murthyadav challenged the construction of a permanent structure near Bheemili beach, citing violations of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) norms. Previously, a PIL led to an immediate halt in construction and the seizure of machinery. The GVMC Assistant City Planner issued a final demolition order on July 18.

Nehareddy’s lawsuit was directed to be joined with the PIL before the CJ bench. Justice Krishnamohan conducted the inquiry into the lawsuit on Monday.
