Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Minister P. Narayana has criticized the YSRCP government for neglecting the needs of the poor, particularly concerning TIDCO houses. During a recent inspection of TIDCO housing projects in capital villages, Narayana highlighted the discrepancies in housing development under the current administration.
Narayana emphasized that during his tenure, the government constructed TIDCO houses using quality materials and planned numerous facilities for the residents. He noted that his administration had approved plans for 5 lakh houses and invited tenders for 4.45 lakh of them. By 2019, 77,371 houses were nearly completed. However, he claimed that under the YSRCP government, the number of houses was reduced to 2.62 lakh.
Narayana promised that essential infrastructure such as roads, electricity, and drainage would be provided within the next three months. He also addressed the issue of financial constraints, assuring that the government would soon release rent payments to farmers and urge banks to ease the burden on TIDCO house beneficiaries.
