Vijayawada: Government employees in Vijayawada have applauded the NDA Coalition government’s recent suspension of the Guarantee Pension Scheme (GPS) gazette order, which reversed the previous administration’s unpopular efforts to enforce the scheme.
KV Siva Reddy, president of the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGO) association, praised the new government’s initiatives, especially the prompt salary deposits. He expressed hope that outstanding issues, including old arrears owed to government employees, would soon be resolved favorably.
“Employees are satisfied with the new government’s actions, including the prompt salary deposits. They are optimistic that old arrears will soon be addressed,” said KV Siva Reddy.
Siva Reddy urged the Chief Minister to release a detailed report on the previous government’s dues to employees and called for the withdrawal of illegal cases against over 1,500 employees who had protested for their rights. He criticized the former administration for its mistreatment of employees.
A. Vidyasagar, President of the NTR District NGO Sangha, demanded transparency and accountability regarding the previous government’s misappropriation of funds. He requested a white paper detailing arrears and payments related to health cards and CPS employee contributions.
Both leaders expressed optimism for improved working conditions and fair treatment for government employees under the new administration.
