Tadepalli: YSRCP Chief and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy condemned the TDP coalition government for its negligence in addressing the diarrhea outbreak in Gurla, Vizianagaram district. The severe health crisis has resulted in 11 deaths and left hundreds affected, sparking public outcry over the lack of adequate response.
Posting on the social media platform X, Jagan criticized the TDP administration under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for failing to mobilize resources promptly, despite the proximity of well-equipped hospitals. He revealed that patients are being treated on benches in schools due to inadequate emergency healthcare facilities, underscoring the state’s unpreparedness in crisis management.
Jagan highlighted severe lapses in essential healthcare services, noting issues with the 104 and 108 ambulance systems, where employees reportedly face delays in receiving salaries. He accused the government of neglecting the Aarogyasri health scheme by not clearing Rs 1,800 crore in dues and dismantling the Aarogya Asara initiative. Additionally, he voiced concerns over the suspension of key health programs like the Family Doctor initiative and the ‘Nadu-Nedu’ scheme for hospital upgrades, suggesting potential moves towards healthcare privatization.
He urged immediate corrective measures, emphasizing the need for improved medical care and clean drinking water to prevent further health issues in Vizianagaram.
