On Sunday, a middle aged man fell on top of a top of a four year old girl from the second floor of a building in Tondiarpet, Chennai. Around 8:30 P.M., Dhanyashri was accompanying her grandfather P. Arunagiri to a grocery shop. Shiva, 30 living on the second floor above the grocery store fell on top of her.
Police suspect Shiva in an inebriated condition fell through a gap in the grill door on the balcony. Dhanyashri lost consciousness and was taken to Apollo Hospitals in Tondiarpet. Later, she was moved to the main branch of Apollo Hospital in Greams Road, Chennai. The Hospital authorities said the child is critical. She has a swelling in the brain and has fractures in the spine and leg. The doctors further added, Dhanyashri is under sedation and her condition will be reassessed in 48 hours.
However, Shiva suffered only a fracture on his left leg as the force minimised as he fell on the child.
