On Tuesday evening, to mark respect of animal love, few people of Bengaluru held the marriage of a pair of donkeys in the Cubbon Park. They held this ceremony in a form of support for love marriages and celebrate to Valentine’s day.
Former MLA Vatal Nagaraj, the President of Kannada Chalavali well known for his weird protests, was the mastermind behind this marriage ceremony. The Bride and Groom donkey named Kempa and Kempi were all decked up and brought to the platform at Cubbon Park. The team of protesters headed by Nagraj showered red roses on the lovers present in the park throughout the ceremony.
Nagraj also felicitated the couple by touching their feet joined hands with them and even kissed the donkeys. He also requested that Central and State Governments should provide protection to the newly married couple and a law should be passed in regard to protection for couples.
