Fodder Scam: CBI Court Issues Notice To 7 People

Yesterday, the CBI Court in Ranchi served a notice to 7 people including the Chief Secretary of Bihar Anjani Kumar Singh. In the notice, the Court declared them as the accused in the Dumka fodder scam and further directed them to be present in the Court on the 28th of March.

The Court further issued notices under section 319 of Code of Criminal Procedure to former Bihar Vigilance Director General D. P. Ojha, former bureaucrat V. S. Dubey, Additional Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Jha and 4 others for illegally withdrawing Rs. 3.76 crores from the Dumka Treasury between 1995 and 1996.

The CBI Court is set to deliver a verdict against the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s founder Lalu Prasad Yadav’s involvement in the Dumka fodder scam. Lalu had allegedly withdrawn Rs. 3.13 crores from the Dumka treasury.

The fodder scam was a corruption scandal involving embezzlement of around Rs. 9.4 billion from the Government treasury in Bihar.
