K. Manicka Raj, the Additional Secretary to K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 1st of March, took over as the new Collector and District Magistrate of Hyderabad.

The announcement came after the Telangana Government issued the transfer orders for 10 Indian Police Services (IPS) officers and 26 Officers, including approximately 11 district collectors.K. Manicka Raj was one of the transferred officers.

K. Manicka Raj replaced G. Ravi, the former Collector and District Magistrate of Hyderabad.

Mr. Raj is a Tamil Nadu cadre IPS officer of 2005 batch. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Arogyasari Yojana in the Industry and Health Department, , in Hyderabad. He also worked with the Collector of Sangareddy district, Hyderabad.

Arogyasri Yojna is a scheme launched by the Telangana Government to provide quality health care and treatment to the poor.

K. Manicka Raj was appointed as the new Collector and District Magistrate, on the 28th of February, and took over his office immediately on the 1st of March.
