In a jab at freedom, the civic body in Jaipur, Rajasthan has made singing the national anthem in the morning a compulsion. Affective on Tuesday, all the employees were made to sing the national anthem at 9:50 A.M.
At the end of the day at 5:55 P.M., the employees will gather once more to sing the Vande Mataram before going home. The city Mayor Ashok Lahoti said, “Nothing has more positive energy than the national song. One should go home with the positive energy of the national song and give quality time to his family.”
He further added, “It has many benefits. This will develop a work culture, there will be positive energy. This will increase workmanship.”
But the initiative was criticised after the Mayor told the ones against the new rule to go to Pakistan. But Lahoti jumped to his defense and said, “No, I did not mean to say go to Pakistan. That was just friendly banter. Someone asked what if someone opposes singing the national anthem. I said this is not Pakistan (that someone will oppose.)”
