Hyderabad: The Telangana government has unveiled ambitious plans to enhance Buddhist tourism in the state. Key initiatives include the establishment of an international museum at Buddhavanam in Nagarjunasagar and the restoration of boating facilities in the backwaters.

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has directed officials to prepare detailed plans for several new projects aimed at boosting tourism. Among the proposed developments are a skywalk around Fanigiri, enhancements to the Nelakondapally Tourism Circuit, and improvements around Hyderabad’s Hussainsagar Lake.

Additionally, the government is considering the construction of a four-lane road to connect Hyderabad with Nagarjunasagar, aimed at improving accessibility to the Buddhist sites.

These projects are part of a broader effort to attract international tourists and promote Telangana’s rich cultural heritage.
