Terrible Roads Plague the City

Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao expressed his anger over the terrible road conditions in Hyderabad after the recent rains. It was stated that around 200 km of road damage was reported in the city and surrounding areas.

This is a problem not just for motorists but also pedestrians in the city. The high levels of dust particles floating in the air are not just an inconvenience but also a health hazard. Health experts have warned about problems with the respiratory system with a leading concern being Bronchitis. Ophthalmologists suggest washing eyes after spending time traveling on city roads, avoiding which may lead to abrasions which can lead to bacterial infections.2

Including many health hazards, the terrible road conditions lead to traffic snarls with vehicles crawling at a snail’s pace bringing the city to a standstill.gmdjinrt

While the police are trying their best to reduce traffic problems, heavy and congested traffic can be expected in many areas at least until the roads are fixed and the monsoon ends.
