Tirumala: To ensure a hygienic environment and high-quality food for the numerous pilgrims visiting Tirumala, TTD Executive Officer J Syamala Rao has mandated that all eateries, including both large and small hotels, implement a two-bin system for waste disposal and install a complaint/suggestion box to gather feedback from devotees.

During a review meeting at Sri Padmavathi Rest House in Tirupati, attended by Additional EO Sri Ch Venkaiah Chowdhary and JEOs Goutami and Veerabrahmam, the EO emphasized the importance of segregating garbage into wet and dry waste and frequent disposal to maintain cleanliness. Hotels are required to display guidelines and food prices on their boards, including notices that no synthetic or banned colors are used in food, tasting salt is not recommended for children under 12, and the hotel is not sub-leased.

Additionally, all canteens in Tirumala must display their names and submit revised rates to the TTD Revenue section. The Food Safety Department will provide FoSTaC training to canteen staff after August 5, followed by inspections. Water bottles must not be sold for more than Rs.20, and violations of these guidelines will result in strict action.

The meeting also reviewed activities and issues related to Annaprasadam, Donor Cell, and Health departments.
