Vijayawada: As many as 19 students of Nalanda Techno School were injured in a road accident while they were on the way to school on Bandra Road near Ganguru, Friday morning.
The school bus in which they were travelling from Poranki has hit a roadroller that broke down on the road, according to Penemaluru police. Most of the students boarded the bus at pick-up point at Poranki, where their residences are located.

According to the reports, there were 32 people in the bus which included teachers and cleaner. Six-year-old R. Akshitha sustained a head injury and was admitted to ICU. She is out of danger as on Friday evening. Fifteen other students aged between 3 and 11 years too sustained minor injuries.
Meanwhile, HRD minister Mr Ganta Srinivas Rao urged the district education officer to ensure proper treatment for the injured.
