14 million computers now running on Windows 10: Microsoft

Thanks to its free download, according to Microsoft, its’ new Windows 10 operating system is now running on more than 14 million computers all over the world. These numbers were registered just after two days of software release.

The numbers are astounding when compared to Microsoft’s goal of installing Windows 10 onto a billion devices within the next three years.  The updates will be released in waves instead of allowing them in bulk quantities.

In a late Thursday blog post, Microsoft said it has not yet delivered Windows 10 to everyone who requested a free upgrade for computers running older Windows versions. Microsoft says the 14 million includes some copies installed on new computers sold in stores.

“It has been an incredible 24 hours for Windows and our fans. We’re humbled and grateful to see the response to Windows 10. We have seen unprecedented demand for Windows 10, with reviews and customer feedback overwhelmingly positive around the globe. We are doing everything we can to upgrade the world to Windows 10 as quickly as possible over the coming days and weeks ahead,” the blog post added.

The new edition has so far been gathering up positive reviews and proving itself as a better alternative for Windows previous editions.
