Digital India Programme Will Be Soon In Action

Silicon Valley: PM Narendra Modi addressed over 350 business delegates on Saturday during his tour to Silicon Valley.The tech world gave PM Modi a ringing endorsement to his ambitious “Digital India” programme.
Microsoft is planning to merge with the Indian Government to bring in low-cost broadband connectivity for 500,000 villages in India. “We believe that low-cost broad band connectivity coupled with the scale of cloud computing intelligence that can be harnessed from data can help drive creativity, efficiency and productivity across governments and businesses of all sizes,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said.

Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO said it will soon announce cloud computing systems from data centers in India next week, calling it in “big milestone”.
India will play a major role in driving technology forward in the future, Google CEO Sunder Pichai, appreciated PM Narendra Modi for accelerating India’s effort for striving to be the next global hot bed of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Digital India initiative, chipmaker Qualcomm said, it will invest $150 million for Indian start-ups in the mobile and internet-of-everything ecosystem. “We are committed to providing local innovative start-ups with the support needed to help India’s IOE (Internet of Everything) ecosystem grow, increasing consumer choice and availability,” Qualcomm executive chairman Paul E Jacobs said.
“An innovation lab will be set up in Bengaluru to provide technical and engineering support to Indian companies, and we will support multiple Indian mobile device design companies,” Qualcomm said.
Apart from these efforts of PM Modi, he attended a townhall meeting with Mark Zuckerberg at the Facebook headquarters. Before the townhall meeting, PM and Zuckerberg changed their profile pictures on Facebook.

The Indian prime minister spent 50 minutes on stage with Zuckerberg, when he also talked about the importance of social media and his “Digital India” initiative, which seeks to connect thousands more Indian villages to the Internet and boost technology investments.
