One of the biggest car makers, General Motors, has recalled as many as 1.55 lakh vehicles in India in a bid to fix all the issues pertaining to the car. This happens to be General Motors’ largest exercise in India after it received many complaints citing problems with remote keyless entry.

General Motors has recalled Chevrolet Spark, Beat and Enjoy which are manufactured during 2007 to 2014.

Earlier, General Motors recalled 1.14 lakh units of Chevrolet Tavera to fix problems related to emissions along with another 4000 units of Diesel variant Chevrolet Sail to solve the engine issues.

The company released a statement that said, “General Motors India is voluntarily recalling 155,000 units of Chevrolet Spark, Beat and Enjoy manufactured between 2007 and 2014 to address a potential safety recall for a remote keyless entry accessory issue,”

This happens to be the second biggest recall of vehicles in India by any automobile company, after Ford which recalled 1.66 lakh of its cars to address various issues related to steering and suspension back in 2013.

“The remote keyless entry accessory meets all the relevant regulatory standards; however, GM India has been made aware of some isolated cases where certain Chevrolet Spark, Beat and Enjoy vehicles were fitted with a faulty accessory. As a result, the impacted models could experience damage to the vehicle due to inappropriate routing,” the company explained.
