iPhone Maker Foxconn Plans To Open Manufacturing Plant in Hyderabad

FOXCONN IN HYDERABAD

In a major boost to Hyderabad’s IT sector, the iPhone maker Foxconn Technologies is prepping up to set up its manufacturing unit in Hyderabad. The world’s largest contract maker of electronic goods is all ready to invest in Hyderabad.

Foxconn Group President Calvin Chin and Vincent Whtong, FIH Mobile Chairman met the Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrasekhar Rao and discussed the possibilities of setting up their manufacturing unit in Hyderabad. The delegation were convinced with the conditions of the city and were more impressed with the state government’s TS-AiPASS (Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self Certification System) scheme.

Hyderabad has been in the news for quite some time now with investments pouring in from all around the world, be it tech giant Google, e-commerce giant Amazon setting up their biggest campuses (outside US) in Hyderabad, along with the local players like Micromax and Celkon setting up their manufacturing units in Hyderabad.

Lately, Karbonn Mobiles have also announced that they are spending around Rs.450 crore to set up their first manufacturing facility in Hyderabad.
