MICROMAX IN HYDERABAD

It is raining investments in Hyderabad. After Amazon and Google agreeing to build their biggest campus (outside US) in Hyderabad, now our local players are also jumping up to the occasion. India’s leading phone maker Micromax and Celkon have decided to set up their manufacturing units in Hyderabad.

This will be a major boost to Hyderabad, as the city’s image was partly dented in the last few years due to political unrest. But the new Telangana government is ensuring that they bring back the brand image of Hyderabad and that too in a big way.

“Micromax has decided to set up its manufacturing plant near Hyderabad. The company would be issuing a letter of intent on Friday, when the Chief Minister launches the state’s industrial policy. They would sign a MoU in the next ten days,” said Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao while inaugurating Amazon’s largest fulfilment centre near Hyderabad.

Likewise, Hyderabad based Celkon Mobiles Chairman and Managing Director, Y Guru said it they are extremely delighted to be one of the first companies to set up their manufacturing unit in Hyderabad. He said “We are very pleased to be one of the first companies to unveil plans in setting up the manufacturing unit. This unit will boost our ability to meet the demand…as well as contribute to the overall ‘Make in India’ revolution promoted by the government of India.”
