Get ready for a brand new year with the launch of a brand new iPhone! Or should we say iPhones! If rumours and speculations are anything to by, we might well see a whole new avatar of the Apple Inc.’s flagship product, the iPhone– in three different versions! The buzz is we may see an edge-less the OLED iPhone 8, the iPhone 7s, and the iPhone 7s Plus. Great news for the holidays isn’t it?
Complementing the colour theme of the season, the news also says Apple might be finally introducing the bold red into their so far pastel palate of colours. If that is true then we cannot wait to see that red adorn the shelves all over the world in the second half of 2017. So what will be the new feature of these advanced version of the product? One thing that Apple is trying to push for is an edge-less display. This news has been more or less confirmed through the reports of flexible printed circuit boards (FPCB) that were ordered to at least two companies. These boards are specifically designed to be incorporated into the Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display.
The new species will also have Touch ID and the camera may be built directly into the display, meaning there will be no Home button. Jony Ive has wanted to introduce an iPhone that looks like a single sheet of glass for several years, and glass is also necessary if Apple wants to introduce wireless charging. The display will be 5.5 inch in length or more. One radical change that Apple also wants to bring about is the introduction of 10 manometer A11 chip that has a faster processing speed than the currently used 16 nm or 14 nm chips. But apparently the yield rates of these chips has been decreasing rapidly. So let’s hope and pray that that particular hurdle is overcome before the phone hits the market.
Then it all comes down to the price. How much money is it going to cost you to get this beauty? Well the prices are being approximated at around $ 750 USD, but nothing yet has been confirmed. That many dollars make for around Rs. 50,876. A tad bit lesser than the 1.7 million pounds jewel encrusted iPhone 6 we agree, but you could always upgrade.
