Leading Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi is eyeing to launch the next version of its custom ROM, MIUI 7. Xiaomi will apparently declare its next emphasis of the MIUI OS ahead of schedule in August.
Reports have emerged that Xiaomi is planning to hold a big event to launch MIUI 7, and has set August 16 as the date to launch it.
The 16 August date holds huge significance for the organization and like always it may pick this date for the official launch of the MIUI 7. The company generally announces huge discounts, deals and promotions on the same date. In addition, the current MIUI 6, featuring Android Lollipop was released on 16 August 2014.
While very little is reported about its features, the report further states that MIUI 7 will be on the lines of the most recent Android version, 5.1 or Lollipop and might be accessible for most Xiaomi Mi phones that run MIUI 6 like, Mi3, Mi4, Mi4i, Mi Note line-ups and for Redmi Note 4G as well.
