Leading Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi is all set to launch the next version of its custom ROM, the MIUI 7 in China today. After months of teasing and leaked reports, Xiaomi finally announced that it would officially launch its next Android skin MIUI 7 on August 13. Xiaomi has already sent invites for the launch event.
There is growing anticipation among users, as there is a strong chance that Xiaomi could unveil the next flagship killer Mi 5, as earlier, Xiaomi launched Mi 4 along with the launch of MIUI 6.
Going on the similar lines as its big competitor OnePlus, who recently launched OnePlus 2 a week back, it looks like Xiaomi will follow a similar approach in terms of the phone specification. The Mi 5 is expected to come powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and a 3030mAh battery. It could also feature a 4GB RAM and offer 16 GB or 32GB internal storage.
Likewise, there is an equal amount of anticipation revolving around the launch of Redmi Note 2. The Redmi Note 2 is speculated to come with a same display size as the predecessor. It will sport a 5.5-inch FHD display and run a 2.0GHz processor combined with 2 GB RAM. It will include a 13 megapixel rear camera combined with a 5 megapixel front snapper and come with 16 GB internal storage. The phablet will draw its juice from a 3020mAh battery.
